The Silver Lake Jubilee implements a Zero Waste Initiative with the goal of 90% landfill diversion, water conservation, and use of renewable power resources. We encourage attendees to bring their own cups and reusable bags. Free bike valet will be available and the festival encourages Metro ridership.
These initiatives echo the pledge of The City of Los Angeles and Council President Eric Garcetti to make LA the model for eco-friendly big cities in America. Through our partnership with Sustain LA, the Los Angeles Arts and Athletics Alliance (Event Organizer) commits to ensuring that the Silver Lake Jubilee is a positive addition to the community. The festival promotes the importance of preserving our natural resources, as well as the importance of Resource Recovery, and is committed to educating festival participants and attendees about both concepts.
Last year the Silver Lake Jubilee achieved tremendous results with 90% diversion from landfill or incineration and prevented the consumption of over 20,000 single-use plastic water bottles! We will continue to further our commitment to sustainability and Zero Waste each year. We hope you choose to adopt sustainable practices in your everyday life by making a conscious effort to reduce and reuse, then recycle and compost.
