PEN in the Classroom is a fantastic program that publishes the written work of thousands of talented youth. It sends professional writers into classrooms to teach creative writing and allows students to record their struggles, hopes and collective experiences.
The Jubilee partnered with PEN USA to bring the 10-week writing-intensive program to Marshall H.S. last year.
The final reading for JMHS will take place this Saturday, January 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Silver Lake Library. The students have decided to title the anthology Identity Papers.
You can also see PEN in action this May when it curates readings at this year’s Jubilee.
